Resumen. Este artículo analiza la Gesta Philippi Augusti de Rigord de SaintDenis, con el objetivo de comprender como se construyó la imagen de Ricardo Corazón de León en esa crónica. Identificar las facetas más importantes de este personaje permite explicar el significado que tomó la figura del monarca inglés en este texto, lo cual posibilita entender por qué se le configuró así y cuál era el objetivo que perseguía el monje de San Dionisio al conducirse de esta manera.
Abstract. This article analyses the Gesta Philippi Augusti of Rigord of Saint-Denis, with the aim of understanding how the image of Richard Lionheart was constructed in that chronicle. Identifying the most important facets of this character, allows us to explain the meaning that the figure of the English Monarch took in this text, which makes possible to understand why it was built like this and what was the objective pursued by the monk of Saint-Denis when he was led from this way.
